ASMTI Shoalwater Bay Training Area Wastewater Treatment Plant

Peter and his team designed and delivered a wastewater treatment solution for the ASMTI Shoalwater Bay Training Area. The system was tailored to handle high, fluctuating flows during military operations while remaining reliable during long standdown periods—up to nine months. A modified facultative lagoon system was selected to avoid the typical issues of odour, solids, and manual input. The final design significantly reduced operational costs, removed the need for full-time operators, and produced clean Class B recycled water suitable for irrigation.

Cunnamulla Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade Paroo Shire Council

Peter led the design and construction of the Cunnamulla Sewage Treatment Plant for Paroo Shire Council. The project addressed challenges of remote delivery, extreme weather, limited technical resources, and seasonal population spikes. Peter’s team provided multiple costed options through an in-house ECI process, landing on a bespoke solution that included an incinerator, composting facility, and solar power integration. The result is a lowmaintenance, energy-efficient plant producing Class B recycled water suitable for irrigation—demonstrating Peter’s ability to deliver practical, future-ready infrastructure in regional settings.

Merrimac Recycled Water Treatment Plant City of Gold Coast

Peter and his team led the design and construction of a new 5ML/day Recycled Water Treatment Plant within the existing Merrimac STP for the City of Gold Coast. By managing the design in-house, the project achieved strong cost and time efficiencies while maintaining control over final outcomes. Key initiatives included early procurement of stainless steel pipework, simplified valve selection, concurrent construction staging, and negotiated supplier discounts.

Quilpie Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade

Peter and his team were engaged by Quilpie Shire Council to design the town’s new sewage treatment plant. The solution had to suit a small, remote community—prioritising simplicity, robustness, and redundancy. After exploring multiple options with Council, a modified lagoon and RBC system was selected. The final design included new inlet works, upgraded lagoons, RBCs with clarifiers, an incinerator, and solar panels that halved energy use. The plant produces Class B recycled water suitable for reuse and irrigation.
